Summer Camps
Through partnerships with the Blue Ridge Children’s Museum and Waynesboro Public Schools, we offer week-long day camps for elementary and middle schoolers at our farm and the Waynesboro Education Farm.
Little GROWers
Ages 5 - 10
Join us on our 10 magical acres of pasture, gardens, greenhouses, streams, and shade trees as we explore all the farm has to offer.
Campers investigate the amazing living creatures of the farm, help out with farm tasks, taste-test veggies, scour the pasture for butterflies, birds, and grasshoppers, and meet animal friends from nearby farms like chickens, lambs, rabbits, and worms!
Lunch and snacks provided free of charge through a partnership with Staunton City Schools Summer Feeding Program.
Monday, June 24th – Thursday, June 27th
8:30 am - 2:30 pm
Junior GROWers
Ages 10 - 13
Are you ready to take your farm camp experience to the next level? Explore the farm and learn to identify the birds, bugs, and animals that live here.
With help from our seasoned education staff and guest instructors, campers go on tree identification walks, help out on the farm, and cook in our outdoor kitchen. Campers spend time being active outside and also enjoy quiet time working on arts and crafts projects in the shade while snacking on the fruits of their labors!
Lunch and snacks provided free of charge through a partnership with Staunton City Schools Summer Feeding Program.
Monday, July 8th – Thursday, July 11th
8:30 am - 2:30 pm
Counselors in Training
Our Counselors in Training (CIT) program is a fun way for teens to develop leadership skills while volunteering as junior counselors at our camps. They develop hands-on leadership and teamwork skills while assisting with camp activities and helping younger children.
Get a behind-the-scenes look at running a summer camp while observing career fields like teaching, childcare, outdoor education, and farming!
Apply by registering for the appropriate camp above and indicating interest in the CIT program.
Waynesboro Farm Camp
We partner with Waynesboro Public Schools to facilitate four weeks of Farm Camp specifically for Kate Collins Middle School students. Campers taste their way through the garden, help out with farm tasks, and practice making yummy snacks like spring rolls, smoothies, and salads. Guided hikes teach campers about trees, insects, and animals, and everyone participates in a Monarch butterfly release.
Farm Camp is held at the Waynesboro Education Farm. Kate Collins Middle School students should contact their guidance counselor to register.
“My daughter now knows more than I do regarding how to grow and pick fruits and vegetables. She’s also less afraid of things, like bugs and getting dirty.”
