A Farm For You

Virginia Farming

The Project GROWS Farm first broke ground in 2012 with a land lease from Augusta County. Since then, we’ve steadily increased our production space, which includes a propagation greenhouse and three high tunnels.

As stewards of the land, we use regenerative, organic practices to grow over 200,000 servings of nutrient-dense food each year that supply our mobile markets as well as local schools and food pantries.

Engaging educational spaces combined with commercial production equipment allows us to increase the visibility and accessibility of local food.

Volunteering!

Since our founding, volunteers have generously donated their time and talents to our organization.

Volunteers help us:

  • Engage with our community

  • Offer recipe tastings at the mobile markets

  • Harvest food on the farm

  • Facilitate educational programs with kids

Wholesale Produce

Building a sustainable food system benefits everyone, from farmers and businesses to individuals and families!

Local schools and food delivery services are frequent customers of our wholesale operation. We also donate 10% of our produce to food pantries in the area.

We encourage regional farmers to get in touch and see how we can grow a stronger food economy together.

Bringing it all Together

As Healthy as Possible

Stewarding our soil life is central to our work. All of our agricultural practices support the vital relationship between plants and microorganisms, which in turn fuel our community.

We use minimal tillage and keep the soil covered as much as possible through cover cropping and mulching. By working to maintain healthy soil, we can grow strong and healthy plants, which results in nutrient-dense food for everyone.
