Announcing our new Executive Director… our very own Clara Metzler!

The Project GROWS Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Clara Metzler will be promoted to the role of Executive Director as of March 16th. Clara’s transition is the result of Project GROWS’ long-standing dedication to cultivating superb, mission-driven leaders who are committed to uplifting our community.

Clara has played an integral role in the organization since joining the GROWS team in 2018 as a seasonal Farm Assistant, and she’s never looked back! Since then, serving in ever-expanding roles, she has successfully grown the organization’s outreach and impact in the region through strong leadership skills, her experience on the farm, a thorough knowledge of day-to-day operations, and a commitment to building relationships across the community and with our valued partners.

Clara’s leadership has provided countless pathways for GROWS to expand its community impact over the last five years and we applaud her as she prepares to lead Project GROWS into an exciting new era.

As we welcome Clara into her new role, we want to thank retiring GROWS Executive Director Annie Sachs, who has served the organization with passion and dedication. Annie is very proud of the incredible work that the organization has accomplished during her tenure, which has included our transition into the newly completed Geiman Barn. “We entered 2022 with all hands on deck!” says Annie. “Together with the GROWS team of experts, our many dedicated volunteers, and Board of Directors, we were able to reconnect youth with their favorite programs, expand our food access work through the launch of our mobile market program, and forge new partnerships that will have a lasting, positive impact for years to come.” Thank you Annie for all of the contributions you have made during your tenure!

Building on these successes, Clara will continue to lead Project GROWS with the purpose and vision upon which it was founded over a decade ago. On behalf of our team, we invite you to come see us on the farm this season. There are so many exciting things to show, share, and celebrate in 2023!
