In order to focus on our food access goals this year at Project GROWS, we have decided to pause our CSA program as we expand our mobile market program, bringing fresh local food directly into communities facing barriers to access. (Interested in other CSAs in the area? For a list of farms in the area with CSA programs, visit Local Harvest!)

Debuting in Staunton this May is Project MOBILE, a weekly farm-to-community event on wheels that will travel to different neighborhoods throughout Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County.

Project MOBILE will feature a pop-up farmers market offering produce from the Project GROWS farm, along with a range of products from other local food producers. This mobile market will also feature free cooking demonstrations and fun activities for all ages! Project MOBILE offers a 50% discount to folks using SNAP-EBT (food stamps) and accepts other benefits like WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers.

Project MOBILE was made possible thanks to funding and services provided by the Virginia Food Access Investment Fund, the Geiman Foundation, and Howdy Bailey's Yacht Services. Our thanks to LEAP and Shalom Farm for inspiration and guidance throughout this process, to the Veggie Van Training Center for support and training, and the many community members who are helping to shape this program!

Take a peek behind the scenes of Project MOBILE's exciting transformation! We started our with a 12 foot box truck, and thanks to a ton of planning and retrofitting... voilà! We will keep you updated as progress continues.

We are also excited to announce our new Project GROWS Farm Stand where you can buy veggies and other local foods including fruit, meat, mushrooms, eggs, cheese, and more from partnering producers. The farm stand will open April 19 and will run each week on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 pm. We hope you'll stop by the farm to buy your groceries and chat with your friends at Project GROWS!

Check out our market schedule below so you can be in the know on where to shop for local goods throughout the week!
